"The Road Before Us" is the seventh issue of Outcast by Kirkman and Azaceta and the first part of the second volume. It was released on March 18, 2015.
Synopsis[]
In light of recent revelations, Kyle feels like he's starting to piece together the answers he's looking for. But while he feels a new sense of purpose... is Reverend Anderson's life falling apart?[1]
Plot[]
Reverend Anderson quickly patches up the inverted pentagram and asks God why he had been forsaken. He feels he isn't worthy and feels ashamed of his fialures. He asks god for the strength to defy The Devil.
While Kyle is alseep, Sidney chokes right outside his house.
At a coffee shop in Charleston, Megan catches up with Allison Barnes, Kyle's ex-wife. They discuss their children before Allison admits she still has feelings for Kyle. As Megan leaves, she passes Donnie in anger.
Kyle approached Sidney, asking if he could borrow the car of the late Norville. Kyle drove to visit the Austins and passes by Mildred. At the Austin's, he met Joshua Austin's father for the first time, who thanked him greatly. Kyle then went to check up on Joshua, who was more than ok.
Donnie approached Megan, trying to apologize for what he had done in the past. Megan lashed out and told Donnie he will always be a rapist.
Kyle then went to visit Reverend Anderson. He notices a blood stain on Anderson's shirt, where Anderson claimed it was a cut for when he shaved. Kyle tells Reverend they need to go back to Mildred as he can't pass up such opportunity. Reverend then says they need to check who Reverend had failed in the past.
